Ick. This last week was in many (but not all) ways a bummer of a week. The girls and I were sick. We're talking fever and chills, sore throats, pink eye for both girls, double ear infection for Maddie kinda sick. After months of my UC being under control, I had a painful flare. And then I had a routine colonoscopy with the worst prep day I've ever had and less than stellar results. Meanwhile Andy's been working about a million hours a week. All this to say, the blog has been neglected while I wipe noses and tears and manage the chaos (with a lot of help from my very kind family). I still haven't had a chance to go through pictures from our trip to C-Ville and currently there is a layer of toys covering the den that I'll need to wade through to get to bed. But, I thought I'd take a moment to share a few pictures before I ignore the toys, relax and get a good night's sleep so I can whip our house back into shape tomorrow. This last week is already on it's way to being forgotten...

I took these pictures when we went on a walk during a warm weekend earlier in the month.
While her room was being painted and carpeted, Maddie stayed in the spare bedroom where the toddler bed resides (waiting for Avonlea to be interested in it). I love seeing my girls sleep, and not just because it means peace and quiet for me. They look so sweet.
Best buds
Avonlea negotiates heels pretty well for someone not quite two years old. She's a regular Suri Cruise!
