C-Ville

Finally I'm posting about our visit with friends in Charlottesville.  We try to get down a couple times a year, but between Andy's schedule and kids (which is very general, but kids complicate things!) it's been awhile since we made it down.  We found a weekend in January that worked and made the trek.  We always have a great time seeing some of our dearest (if not nearest because geez, that car ride seems longer with kids) friends.  The following picture is the theme of our weekend:

We relaxed and visited, only leaving the house for church.  This might seem a bit boring, but it was perfect.  You know you're good friends when you can just kick back in slippers and pjs.  We never have enough time to catch up all the way so to just sit around a visit was a treat.  Plus, we were lucky that various friends came to us for a pizza party on Saturday night.  At one point there were 11 kids and babies amongst the four families gathered.  The only sad thing about the weekend was that Kim got sick and couldn't come.  But, that just means I need to get back down that much sooner to see her.
Saturday morning lounging
That handsome boy is our godson.  He's super cute and every bit as sweet.

The dads got in on the coloring/crafting action.

This picture is blurry (pretty much all my pictures from this weekend are subpar, but whatevs, I'm a mom, not a photographer), but I wanted to post it b/c I liked capturing all the different people visiting.  This was a mini-reunion of friends I went to college with and friends Andy went to medical school with which is rather convenient since there were a fair amount of marriages resulting from the meeting of those two groups!

The boys were intent on Legos.

This monochromatic salad inspired me.  Katy actually added some different colored veggies, but I am going to try and think more monochromatically about food occasionally since I like the look.

I met this sweet baby girl when she was only about a week old and it was great to see her again.

Lots of pizza for a big crowd

We all managed to get up, ready and to church on time.

That smile...he's going to break hearts!

Maddie adores her little friend as much as she did the last time we visited.  (And for some reason my pictures were completely overexposed then, too.   Here's another post about that visit.)

I forgot to get a picture of the crowd of 11 kids the night before and I didn't get a chance to get a picture of them all in the church clothes, but before we left I got 4/5 of the crew!  (The other 1/5 was napping.)
It was a great visit and we hope to make it down again this summer and also to welcome our Virginia friends up here.  Pool party!
