Bowling

I'm going to backtrack a few weeks and post about a play date we had with Maddie's classmates.  We've been having weekly play dates or outings with her class thanks to the initiative of one of the moms.  It's been great for Maddie because she loves to see her friends and for me because I love to see her interact with them (and also to get to know the other moms).  One of the outings was to the bowling alley.  It was a blast!  It was the bowling alley that I used to go to as a child and for birthday parties.  It was Maddie's first time bowling and it was my first time back to this alley in decades.  It was such a blast from the past!  Less smoky, but otherwise I think it was exactly the same.  Seriously, I think Maddie's french fries may have been fried in the same oil as mine were back in 1987.  Delish!

Maddie had a lot of fun, but I'm not sure she really got it.  The kids would all happily jump up for their turn, but they were so lacking a competitive spirit (thank goodness) that sometimes they'd turn away and be back to their friends before the ball had even hit the pins.  And even when they watched and jumped up and down after they knocked some down, they never asked about the score, winners or losers.  My kind of bowling!
I do not remember having this ramp when I was a child.  Bumpers, yes.  Festive ramp, no.

Maddie and her favorite classmate were very sweet together.  (And yes, I now see how poorly Maddie's leggings fit. I think they're going to be packed away!)

It's amazing no fingers were pinched since they all gathered around the ball chute, grabbing at balls.  There were a lot of dropped balls, but just as amazing, none landed on toes.

 Bowling together

Pizza and fries on the floor--pretty much the most unhealthy eating scenario I can imagine!

Hopefully I'll get to sift through pictures from C-Ville soon and share those.  See you then!
