O Christmas Tree

Here are some pictures of our Christmas trees.  It feels pretty posh having two trees!  A bit of a splurge for thrifty me, but we are enjoying it immensely.  The big tree (our Charlie Brown tree because the branches are a bit spaced which is the look I was going for--more room for ornaments) has all of our fragile ornaments as well as some others.  The short and plump tree is our Swedish tree with all of the straw and Swedish ornaments.  The girls keep taking the ornaments off which is okay with the short tree b/c those are pretty sturdy, but we've had some casualties from the other tree so I've had to get firm about hands off.

Maddie was running because she heard Andy come in after work.  I loved the profile it created against the tree.

And here's a picture so you can see some more of the living room.  One of these days I'll get around to the house tour.

And here's the Swedish tree and a view of the den, we'll part of if anyway.  Just keeping in real with the toys and pillows all over the floor.
PS I turned 32 yesterday!  I feel like I'm supposed to say how old that seems, but really it doesn't. It was a pretty laid back birthday.  I got to Christmas shop while my mom watched the girls.  In the evening Andy and I took them to the candy cane hunt in Manasquan which was CRAZY!  Thousands of people and kids racing around Main Street.  I really appreciate the hard work of the chamber of commerce, volunteers and generosity of the stores, but I don't know if we'll be doing that again or at least not until the girls are older.  Maddie got knocked over, the crowds were crazy (and at times pushy) and I actually saw people being bused in to participate.  After the insanity we picked up dinner (pizza for Andy and the girls and spaghetti carbonara because I really wanted a birthday calorie splurge).  I was thrilled to get a new lens and reflector from Andy and the girls.  But most of all I am thrilled to have the privilege of starting a new year of loving Andy, my family and friends, mothering my sweet girls, and serving my Savior.
