On Saturday I hosted a sprinkle for Beth. I had not heard of the sprinkle concept until the last couple of years, but I loved the idea of doing a little something for second (or third or fourth or you get the point) babies. It's not so much about the gifts as it is about celebrating the mom and soon-to-be-born baby. Beth, Jessie, my mom, grandmother and the kids all gathered for a little luncheon and to open a few gifts. Andy helped me out by running errands and keeping the kids occupied with their lunch for awhile which was a huge help. Even though it was only my closest family coming over, I still seemed to be running around Saturday morning trying to finish up everything. It all got done and it was so nice to visit with everyone without any other distractions. All we had to do was eat, visit and get excited for the new baby boy we'll meet soon!
No one really "got" these cupcakes. I saw it on Pinterest and went with it because with all the holiday baking I just didn't have cake pops or a decorated layer cake in me. The cut out clouds and blue sprinkles are supposed to make you think of a shower (or in this case, sprinkle).
The puff pastry on the brie got majorly puffy.
For the record, Madeleine picked out her whole ensemble. I love the dress (it was mine as a child), but it's a bit too small on her now and definitely too summery. And the shoes wouldn't have been my first choice. But she was so excited that I couldn't say no.
The kids were so excited about the gifts. In the picture below, you can see Maddie jumping up and down with excitement. (In fact, the days leading up to this Maddie was so excited and couldn't stop talking about Aunt Beth and the new baby. She thought she was meeting the baby but finally I was able to convince her that Beth would still be pregnant.)
My grandma gave Beth a sweater that she made for my father when he was a little boy. It's a little big for Nate, but in the years to come both Nate and the new baby will be able to use it.
Nate and Maddie were in wild, dancing moods!
Edward had a rare few hours off (seriously, he works practically 24/7!) and stopped by. Here is the soon to be family of four!

What a wonderful sprinkle! You're the best! Your pix are way better than mine--I have to get them off your camera next time I'm home.
