It's been quite a few months for us between selling our beloved home in Haddonfield, living with my parents for a few months and then buying a new home not far from them. (I'm happy to share our address with any friends who want to update our contact info. Just send me an email and I'll let you know. I just think it's prudent to be a little more vague on the blog.)
We were so grateful that our home in Haddonfield sold relatively quickly in this market and were excited to move since it was for great reasons--a wonderful job opportunity for Andy and a chance to be closer to family. However, we adored that little house (and neighborhood) and I sobbed when we finished packing it up. I still owe that sweet little house a post so I won't get too sappy here, but all that is to say, I was unconvinced we'd find another house we felt could match it in such a short time. When we saw this house Andy and I were both immediately envisioning our family here. But, we hadn't yet closed on our other house so we put it in the back of our minds. It was still on the market after we closed so after consulting with my parents, coming back and prayerfully considering it, we took the plunge. This was sometime in August and we ultimately closed in the beginning of October. The family we bought it from was very nice and obviously maintained this home with great care. It was a smooth process from start to finish and we couldn't be happier with our new house...make that, home! We only moved in a couple weeks ago but already feel settled and comfortable. God willing, I see us spending many happy years here!
At some point I will do a post giving a little tour of our new digs (oh, the space!), but for now, here are a few pictures from closing day. After the closing (which took about 10 minutes, compared with the two hours the closing for our Haddonfield house took!) we raced home to get the girls so we could bring them to the house. It was so thrilling for us all.
